About Me

I am a dually licensed clinician working in private practice with experience in BOTH individual counseling AND relational (couple and family) therapy.

Whether you engage in the therapeutic process alone, with a partner, or with your family, I can provide a multidimensional approach toward resolving your concerns.

As an LPC intern on the clinical treatment team at Meier Clinics, I worked alongside medical staff in an intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization setting to provide treatment planning and implementation for patients experiencing debilitating anxiety, depression, trauma, bi-polar disorder, suicidal ideation, and mild psychosis.

As an MFT intern at UT Southwestern, I treated families and couples in the Department of Psychiatry’s Family Studies Center. I have worked closely with two different school systems in the Dallas area to provide critical care services to families who need them. My primary modality is Emotionally Focused Therapy, a structured and highly researched form of therapy based on adult attachment and bonding. In addition, I provided services at the UT Southwestern ALS clinic to support individuals, families, and staff contending with the impact of this condition. I hold a post-graduate degree in counseling from Dallas Baptist University and have been in practice since 2016, having accrued more than 5,000 hours of clinical supervision within three internships, all recognized and approved by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy.

I have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy having completed my Externship in 2018 and Core Skills Training in 2020 through the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. I am currently an active member of the North Texas EFT Community and participate in ongoing advanced trainings.

I hold additional memberships in the following professional organizations: Texas Counseling Association (TCA), Texas Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (TAMFT), and the American Association of Marriage & Family Therapists (AAMFT)

My own enduring relationships, experience raising my four grown children, and personal long- term venture through psychodynamic therapy will, I trust, deepen my understanding of your issues. In addition, I have an extensive background in church ministry and an undergraduate degree in biblical studies and theology. I can incorporate ChrisMan counseling into therapy if desired. Clinical interests include intimate partner relationships, systems theory, wellness, spirituality, and life transitions.

When not working, I love to read, travel, and enjoy the precious community at my local PureBarre studio. And, I am addicted to body boarding wherever I can find good waves! I would also love to learn some really great Latin dance moves and enjoy big band, soft jazz, Henry Mancini, and just great music in general. Turner Classic Movies, especially the Alfred Hitchcock type, are also my favorite.

I am fueled by my passion to facilitate clients into new emotional experiences that change the way they understand relationships with others and themselves. I believe that the quality of our relationships directly impacts mental health. Readily attainable responsiveness to emotional needs and fears can go a long way toward effectively coping with stress, lowering anxiety, increasing resilience, and taking healthy risks toward new growth. Consider allowing me to join your journey!
