Fees, Insurance & Duration Of Therapy

Fees:

I have a flat fee of $140 per 50-minute session, whether for individuals, couples, or families.

Insurance:

While I do not contract with insurance at this Mme, out-of-network benefits MAY cover close to half of the expense of therapy. To utilize this benefit, you will need to print the appropriate form from your insurance company’s website, fill out your portion, and I will complete the rest and send it in for you. Please contact your insurer for details and confirmation. I cannot guarantee that you will be reimbursed, but I can provide a list of questions to ask your insurer so that you can make an informed decision about your investment in therapy.

Duration of Therapy:

Generally, in my experience, family work lasts anywhere from 4-12+ sessions. I often see good changes occur in 6-8 sessions. The number of family members present, the frequency of appointments (i.e., weekly), and complexity of issues can affect the number of needed sessions. Research has shown that Emotionally Focused Couple’s Therapy GENERALLY requires 12-20 sessions to achieve desired results. EFT is not a fit for every couple’s needs; therefore, other modalities and interventions can vary the duraMon of the course of therapy. Individual therapy, depending on goals, complexity, modality, and resources, can last from a few weeks to a few years. As with any type of therapy, progress is monitored and goals kept in focus. A course of individual therapy is as unique as each client, and in my opinion, cannot be pre- determined.
